Fuel granules (pellets)

Pellets (fuel granules) – normalized cylindrical products izgotovlenie by pressing with a pressure of agricultural waste, dried and ground wood or other biomass without any binding elements. Have a high energoconstructia with little occupied volume. The pellets differ from ordinary wood by high dryness (8-12% moisture against 30-50% in firewood) and more — about half — density. These qualities provide a high calorific value compared to wood chips or wood — when burned tons of pellets stands about 5 thousand kWh of heat that a half times more than conventional wood. To date, pellets cost of heat comparable with coal (however, the latter is poorly amenable to automation and basic operations – loading/slag removal has to be done manually). The granules are less susceptible to spontaneous ignition, as it does not contain dust and spores that can also cause an allergic reaction in people.
